As an integral member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in supporting various areas of tax and regulatory compliance for the Alfa Laval U.S. Group with a focus on process and workpaper development and improvement. You will have the opportunity to work within the US Tax team to make improvements and changes, contributing to the overall success and growth of our organization. Currently this is a fixed-term position that can be onsite or remote. The term for this position is 12 months.
Job Responsibility
Prepare and file federal, state, and local income tax returns
Calculate and submit estimated tax payments and extensions
Analyze and utilize company data to ensure accurate tax compliance
Implement process improvements
Conduct nexus studies to assess tax obligations across jurisdictions
Register entities for state and local tax compliance
Manage gross receipts and franchise tax filings
Support transfer pricing documentation and compliance
Monitor and reconcile fixed asset records for tax purposes
Support indirect tax compliance, including sales tax and VAT
Complete informational reporting including forms 1099 and similar requirements
Assist with international tax compliance and reporting
Coordinate Secretary of State qualification and periodic reporting
Obtain and renew business and contractor licenses
Prepare and submit U.S. Census and BEA (Bureau of Economic Analysis) reports
Administer unclaimed property compliance and reporting
Prepare monthly and annual tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740 and IAS 12
Maintain and share various types of company information
Support business operations and cross-functional teams
Assist with special projects and ad hoc assignments
Develop and improve written procedures and documentation
Drive continuous improvements initiatives within the department
Requirements
Bachelor's degree (accounting or related business degree preferred) with relevant experience
Minimum 5 years of professional experience in a corporate, business, or related environment
Experience with accounting (moderate general accounting knowledge preferred)
