Job Description:

My client is seeking a Tax Manager to lead tax and informational return preparation, ensure compliance for major transactions and structures, and handle regulatory reporting across 20+ non-profit and for-profit entities. This role collaborates closely with internal accounting, finance teams, and external vendors to fulfill responsibilities to the highest standards. Job Responsibility:

  • Oversee transfer pricing structures and underlying transactions to ensure compliance while aligning with financial goals
  • Develop and implement tax planning strategies in partnership with the group’s directors and legal team
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external accounting firms to review and ensure the accurate preparation of Forms 990, 990-T, 990PF, and related schedules for multiple exempt organizations
  • Work closely with the internal team and external firms to review and accurately prepare Forms 1120, 1065, and related schedules for multiple for-profit entities
  • Proactively research applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards to mitigate organizational risks and maintain 100% compliance
  • Partner with external accounting firms to analyze year-over-year changes in tax return data and explain variances to stakeholders
  • Assist in estimated tax payments, projections, and metric calculations
  • Identify opportunities to improve organizational processes and efficiency

Requirements:

  • 5-7 years of federal income tax experience, with at least 1+ years in assurance and/or outsourced accounting
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and hard deadlines simultaneously
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to coordinate information across teams and systems
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with accounting reconciliations and transaction research
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Nice to have:

  • Nonprofit tax accounting experience
  • CPA certification or active pursuit preferred
  • Public accounting background strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of Sage Intacct or similar ERP accounting tools
  • Experience with estate and trust returns
