Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Tax Manager to join a public accounting team in Appleton, Wisconsin. This position focuses on delivering accurate individual tax services while contributing to long-term planning strategies for clients. The role also offers the opportunity to review completed filings, provide technical guidance, and support bookkeeping-related tax work using QuickBooks.

Job Responsibility

  • Prepare accurate individual income tax returns in compliance with current tax regulations and filing requirements
  • Examine completed tax filings, verify supporting details, and approve returns with a strong focus on quality and accuracy
  • Partner with colleagues to develop multi-year tax planning approaches that align with client financial goals
  • Analyze tax documents and financial records to identify reporting issues, planning opportunities, and areas requiring follow-up
  • Use QuickBooks to support tax-related bookkeeping activities and maintain organized financial information for return preparation
  • Communicate with internal team members and clients to gather documentation, clarify tax positions, and resolve outstanding questions

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience in tax accounting, preferably within a public accounting environment
  • Demonstrated expertise in preparing individual income tax returns, including Form 1040 filings
  • Proven ability to review tax returns thoroughly and ensure compliance with applicable laws and standards
  • Experience contributing to tax planning strategies designed for multi-year financial outcomes
  • Working knowledge of QuickBooks Pro for bookkeeping support and tax preparation processes
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial information accurately and efficiently
