We are seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join our mid-sized accounting firm in Mount Arlington, NJ. This leadership role is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned tax professional to manage tax compliance, guide strategic planning, and mentor a high-performing team. As Tax Manager, you will oversee the preparation and review of business and personal tax returns, ensure compliance with evolving tax regulations, and serve as a trusted advisor to clients. You’ll work closely with internal staff and clients to deliver value-driven tax services and support complex financial decisions.
Job Responsibility:
Manage and oversee the preparation and review of individual, trust, gift, partnership, and corporate tax returns
Serve as a primary point of contact for clients
proactively communicate about tax matters
Conduct technical research and provide strategic recommendations
Identify and implement tax-saving opportunities for clients
Lead, mentor, and provide performance feedback to tax team members
Ensure accuracy and compliance by reviewing financial records and adjusting as needed
Manage multiple client engagements and coordinate staff workflow and deadlines
Demonstrate initiative, strong judgment, and attention to detail
Other duties as assigned by Partners
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required)
Active CPA license (required)
10–15 years of progressive tax experience in public accounting
Proven leadership and team management experience
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
Experience with QuickBooks (desktop and online)
Familiarity with tax prep software
ProSystem FX preferred
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Professionalism, confidentiality, and a strong work ethic
