We are looking for an “Tax Manager” for the Istanbul headquarters of our global business partner operating in the fashion retail sector.
Job Responsibility:
Develop and maintain tax plans, compliance procedures and risk assessment frameworks to ensure effective tax management
Manage and oversee the filing of regular tax returns, including income tax and other direct or indirect taxes
Collaborate closely with finance and accounting teams to ensure that tax strategies and policies are accurately implemented in line with national tax regulations
Identify, track and report potential financial risks or issues, working with accounting teams to implement appropriate solutions
Conduct detailed tax analyses to provide expert advice on tax planning and optimisation opportunities, ensuring compliance with local regulations
Coordinate and manage tax audits, inquiries and notices from tax authorities
Maintain preparation, documentation, calculations and records related to tax filings, provisions and all tax-related activities, including Quarterly Advance Tax and Annual Corporate Income Tax
Coordinate the VAT refund process together with external advisors
Oversee the preparation of Transfer Pricing Reports in collaboration with the headquarter tax department
Partner with finance, legal and operations teams to ensure alignment on tax-related matters
Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders on financial topics, including the tax implications of business decisions and transactions
Stay up to date with changes in tax legislation, proactively identifying risks and optimisation opportunities
Promote a culture of tax compliance and awareness across the organisation through training and knowledge sharing
Collaborate with tax advisors and accounting departments on local hyperinflation adjustment calculations
Manage dividend calculation and thin capitalization assessments
Lead the preparation of statutory financial statements
Monitor and track electronic legislation requirements
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Taxation or a related field
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualification
Minimum 5 years of experience in tax management, ideally within a corporate or public accounting environment
Experience in tax advisory or consultancy departments within Big 4 firms
Strong understanding of tax planning strategies and hands-on experience in managing indirect taxes
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
Team-oriented mindset with high attention to detail
Strong command of English and MS Office applications
Experience with ERP systems such as SAP
