Job Description:

A highly regarded independent accountancy practice is seeking an experienced Tax Manager in Saffron Walden to join its growing tax team. This Tax Manager job is ideal for a CTA, ACA or ACCA-qualified professional with strong experience in personal tax, corporate tax, trust tax, tax compliance and tax advisory within accountancy practice. Job Responsibility:

  • Manage a mixed portfolio of personal, corporate and trust tax clients
  • Oversee tax compliance, including self-assessment, corporate tax returns and trust tax returns
  • Provide tax planning and advisory services to individuals, trusts, SMEs and owner-managed businesses
  • Review tax computations and tax returns prepared by junior team members
  • Support clients with capital gains tax (CGT), inheritance tax (IHT), trust planning and business structuring advice
  • Build strong client relationships and act as a trusted adviser
  • Identify tax planning opportunities and provide commercially focused advice
  • Mentor and develop junior members of the tax team
  • Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations and current UK tax legislation

Requirements:

  • CTA, ACA or ACCA qualified (or qualified by experience)
  • Strong experience in personal tax, corporate tax and ideally trust taxation within accountancy practice
  • Excellent knowledge of UK tax legislation, tax compliance and HMRC regulations
  • Experience reviewing tax returns and managing client tax portfolios
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to deliver clear, practical tax advice to clients
  • Well organised with the ability to manage deadlines and multiple priorities
