Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Tax Manager to join our team on a contract basis. This position offers the opportunity to oversee critical tax-related activities, including corporate filings and compliance, for a manufacturing organization based in Ottawa, Kansas. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in tax management and accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and adherence to federal and state regulations.

Job Responsibility:

Prepare, review, and file corporate tax returns at both federal and state levels
Conduct thorough reviews of transfer pricing documentation to ensure compliance
Oversee property tax filings and capitalization processes for accurate reporting
Perform detailed balance sheet reviews to maintain financial accuracy
Collaborate with external accounting and tax service providers to facilitate filings
Maintain compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations
Provide audit support and address inquiries related to tax provisions
Deliver timely and accurate annual income tax provisions
Utilize accounting software systems to manage and streamline tax processes
Monitor and implement updates to tax policies and procedures as required

Requirements:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate tax management
Proficiency in preparing and filing federal and state tax returns
Strong understanding of transfer pricing and property tax regulations
Expertise in balance sheet reviews and tax provision calculations
Familiarity with accounting software systems and tools
Knowledge of compliance standards and auditing practices
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication and organizational skills
