Job Description

Step in as the principal in charge of an established, well-regarded accounting practice in the North Port area - an existing book of loyal clients and a team of 4–6 already in place; with the capital, technology, and support of a growing platform behind you. You're not building from a cold start; you're taking the helm of a real business and making it better. It's a player-coach role: you'll own the office's clients, quality, and people day-to-day, stay hands-on with the tax work that needs your judgment, and lend multistate expertise to our New York office during busy season.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead the office as principal in charge - its clients, quality, delivery, and growth
  • Manage and develop a team of 4-6
  • Review and sign off as the senior technical authority on returns and client work
  • Do the tax work that needs you - preparation and planning for the clients where your expertise matters most
  • Own the client relationships
  • Support New York in busy season with multistate tax expertise and surge capacity
  • Partner on growth - integrate the practice, put our AI tools to work, and scale what's working

Requirements

  • CPA preferred
  • experienced EAs will be considered
  • Several years of public accounting experience, including multistate tax work
  • FL and NY exposure a strong plus
  • Experience leading or mentoring a team, or clear readiness to step up
  • Comfort being hands-on through busy season
  • Strong, warm client-facing communication
  • A tech-forward mindset and genuine interest in how AI is reshaping accounting
