You will join the Tax department, part of Back Market’s legal team, and report directly to the Head of Tax. You'll be his or her right (or left) hand man, getting into the practical life of an in-house tax counsel. The Tax Department works closely with the Public Affairs, Accounting and Finance teams. As a Tax Intern, you will help the Head of Tax in supporting Back Market’s global growth in compliance with tax laws. This role involves conducting legal research, ensuring monitoring, preparing and reviewing tax returns, assisting in tax audits. Back Market is an online marketplace for refurbished electronic devices active in 18 countries worldwide!
Job Responsibility:
Perform legal research and ensure legal monitoring regarding tax laws in France, EU, UK, USA and APAC zone
Assist in the preparation of VAT, Corporate income tax and local tax filings
Assist in the preparation of our R&D tax credit submissions in France and in other countries
Monitor payment and refunds of taxes
Implement our transfer pricing policy and contribute to our transfer pricing documentation
Contribute to the management of our marketplace compliance obligations (DAC7 and similar seller income reporting rules worldwide)
Contribute to seller education in terms of tax compliance
Apply and enrich KYB processes to fight against tax fraud
Work closely with tech teams to automate certain tax processes and to build reports for our users
Assist the Head of Tax in case of tax audits or litigations
Answer operational questions about tax matters and build an internal knowledge base
Ensure our compliance with environmental taxes (EPR regulations)
Requirements:
EFB student and/or have a DJCE / Master I or Master II in Tax Law
Looking for a 6-months full-time internship from July to December 2026
English and French fluency Mandatory (fully professional capability)
Prior internship experience in a legal area, big plus if you have already been part of a tax team
Excellent communication skills and a strong capacity for analysis and synthesis
