At AWC, the Tax Compliance Manager is responsible for overseeing tax compliance activities to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to federal, state, and local tax regulations. This role partners closely with Finance, Accounting, Payroll, and external advisors to manage risk, support audits, and continuously improve tax processes across the organization.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive tax compliance experience, preferably in a corporate environment
  • Strong working knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations
  • Experience reviewing tax filings, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to clearly communicate complex tax concepts to non-tax stakeholders
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and standard accounting systems
  • Must be a team player with the ability to work cross-functionally to achieve common goals

Nice to have

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation (preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Supervisory or lead experience within a tax or accounting function
  • Experience supporting audits and working directly with taxing authorities
  • Continuous improvement mindset with experience enhancing tax processes or controls
