Job Description

Our client, a leading regional law firm is looking for a Tax Attorney to join the Denver office is seeking a 5 plus years Tax Attorney to support their Private Wealth Elder Law Practice. This position will work closely with Private Client Group attorneys and CPAs to provide expert advice to clients and their advisors regarding gift, estate, GST, and income tax issues and fiduciary accounting matters (billable and non-billable).

  • Preparing and/or reviewing gift, estate, and fiduciary income tax returns and fiduciary accountings
  • Review of appraisals of transfers of hard-to-value assets for gift and estate tax returns

Requirements

  • 5 plus years of tax experience in a professional services capacity as a CPA or, a Master of Taxation
  • Active attorney licensure required
  • CPA credential or advanced tax education such as a Master of Taxation is valued
  • Working knowledge of estate, gift, fiduciary income, and individual income tax rules
  • Familiarity with trust and estate administration and related fiduciary accounting concepts
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct tax research and produce clear, analytical written work
  • Experience preparing or reviewing financial models, including balance sheets and projection-based analyses
  • Strong judgment and problem-solving skills with the ability to craft thoughtful approaches to challenging tax matters
  • At least 3 years of experience practicing tax law in a law firm, accounting firm, or other services environment
