Job Description:

As a Tax Assistant, you will play a crucial role in assisting with providing guidance, preparing tax returns, and supporting clients in navigating complex tax regulations. Your expertise will help ensure clients remain compliant and optimize their tax strategies.

Job Responsibility:

Prepare and file tax returns (T1, T3), elections, and specialized forms
Review documentation to ensure accurate accounting entries
Research and communicate with the CRA
Draft written correspondence to tax authorities as needed
Assist senior team members with advisory services and collaborate to resolve issues

Requirements:

Relevant degree and a commitment to further professional development
Minimum 1 year of experience in the Tax field in public accounting
Strong understanding of accounting principles and tax software and MS Office
Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines with attention to detail
Effective communication and strong time management
Positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and commitment to building client and team relationships
