The Tax and Reporting Manager is a senior leadership role, responsible for driving tax strategy, compliance, and reporting across multiple jurisdictions. This role must ensure robust tax governance, optimising tax positions, and managing tax risk, while providing oversight of audit programs and leading compliance and tax training initiatives. The position reports to the Finance Director and acts as the primary link to the head office in Europe on tax and accounting matters.
Job Responsibility:
Lead and manage all aspects of tax compliance and risk management for the European region
Develop and implement strategic tax planning and optimisation initiatives
Oversee tax reporting and financial oversight
Govern and oversee internal and external audit programs
Drive compliance and tax training across the region
Act as custodian of tax and reporting systems, processes, and manuals
Ensure full compliance with all direct and indirect tax obligations
Lead the preparation and review of statutory accounts and consolidated tax packs
Manage strategic tax planning
Liaise with auditors, tax advisers, and regulatory bodies
Oversee deferred tax calculations, reconciliations between IFRS and local GAAP
Provide technical guidance on tax and accounting matters to local finance teams
Develop and deliver compliance and tax training programs
Monitor changes in tax legislation
Support new projects and business initiatives with tax risk assessments
Champion continuous improvement in tax processes, systems, and reporting
Attend departmental meetings
Assist senior management as required
Any other reasonable duties as requested by the line manager
Requirements:
Qualified Accountant (CTA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
Expertise in tax compliance, risk management, and strategic tax planning
Strong knowledge of IFRS, UK GAAP, and local tax regulations across Northern Europe
Advanced analytical, reporting, and communication skills
Experience with finance systems implementation and change management
