Lead and coordinate the company’s tax functions in Mexico and LATAM, ensuring full compliance with tax obligations, proper management of tax refund processes, and timely attention to audits and requests from Tax Authorities, while providing strategic support in compliance processes across LATAM countries.
Job Responsibility:
Coordinate and oversee tax refund requests (VAT and Income Tax) in Mexico, including preparation, filing, and follow-up with the Tax Authorities
Manage and monitor inquiries and reviews from tax authorities, ensuring technical, timely, and well-founded responses
Support and manage tax audits, including documentation preparation, technical support, and guidance throughout the process
Provide support in tax compliance processes across LATAM countries, including review of local obligations, risk analysis, and follow-up on regulatory filings
Collaborate with external advisors and internal teams (Finance, Legal, Audit) to ensure proper control and tax management
Stay updated on tax legislation changes in LATAM, assessing their impact on operations and proposing mitigation actions
Design and implement tax best practices to optimize processes, reduce risks, and ensure compliance
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Proficient in English
+3 of experience in tax matters, with emphasis on tax refunds, responding to requests, and tax audits
Strong knowledge of VAT and Income Tax in Mexico
Experience in tax compliance processes in Latin American countries
Advanced Excel skills
Strong leadership, effective communication, and analytical thinking skills
