The Tax Accountant assists with financial and income tax statements, making sure that they comply with tax laws by filing their federal and state tax returns.
Job Responsibility:
Prepare quarterly and annual tax reports, ensuring accuracy
Advise management about the impact of tax liabilities and corporate strategies or new tax laws
Identify tax issues or errors from incorrect tax filings and create solutions
Identify legal tax savings and recommend ways to improve profits
Make sure that clients comply with federal, state and local tax regulations
Keep up-to-date with tax changes and industry trends by participating in educational opportunities, participating in professional organizations, keeping up with professional networks and reading professional publications
Organize any outsourced tax preparation work
Prepare tax provisions schedules, returns, payments, reports and maintain a company's tax database
Ability to effectively interact, verbally and in writing
Requirements:
CPA highly preferred
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
Must be a creative thinker and have strong problem-solving skills
2+ years of public or corporate tax
Excellent organizational skills
Bachelors or masters degree in Accounting or relevant field required
