We are seeking a Tax Accountant to support global tax operations by extracting, analysing, and maintaining accounting data for tax purposes. This role plays a key part in ensuring tax compliance, accurate reporting, and timely delivery of tax-related outputs for local tax teams across multiple countries. Based in Budapest, the role sits within Advanced Finance and contributes to high-quality tax data management and operational excellence.
Job Responsibility:
Extract and analyse accounting data to support tax calculations and statutory returns
prepare tax calculations, adjustments, payments, and returns in line with local requirements
maintain and update tax master data including commodity codes, weights, tax classifications, and VAT numbers
review vendor invoices to ensure tax compliance prior to posting in the ERP system
prepare manual tax adjustments where data is not captured in ERP systems
complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations and follow up on open items
monitor tax rates and ensure correct tax settings within ERP systems
respond to ad hoc tax coding and data queries from stakeholders across the business
Requirements:
Exposure to an accounting or finance environment
basic understanding of tax principles or strong willingness to build tax knowledge
highly organised, able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively
detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and data quality
customer-focused with a collaborative and service-oriented mindset
fluent in English
