Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Tax Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Concord, Massachusetts. In this role, you will manage tax preparation processes, ensure compliance with tax regulations, and contribute to maintaining accurate financial records. This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse tax-related tasks while collaborating with a dedicated team.

Job Responsibility:

Prepare monthly sales and use tax reports and file tax returns accurately and on time
Perform account reconciliations for general ledger sales tax accounts to ensure financial accuracy
Organize and maintain exemption certificates and sales tax matrices to support compliance efforts
Assist in gathering information for tax agency inquiries and provide support during audits
Conduct in-depth tax research to ensure compliance with evolving regulations
Handle special tax-related projects as required by the organization
Collaborate with team members to ensure the successful execution of tax-related initiatives

Requirements:

A minimum of 3 years of experience in tax preparation and related activities
Proficiency in Lacerte Tax Software for efficient and accurate tax filing
Strong knowledge of sales tax and use tax regulations
Experience working with Vertex Sales & Use Tax software
Demonstrated ability to perform account reconciliations for tax-related general ledger accounts
Solid understanding of tax reporting requirements and procedures
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
