Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Tax Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis. This role offers the flexibility of remote work and part-time hours, making it an excellent opportunity for professionals with substantial experience seeking a dynamic yet balanced position. Based in Long Beach, California, this role will focus on delivering high-quality tax preparation and compliance services to individuals and businesses.

Job Responsibility:

  • Prepare and review individual and business tax returns using Intuit ProConnect Tax Online to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Verify and input tax data meticulously, referencing prior-year files for accuracy and consistency
  • Ensure adherence to federal and state tax regulations, maintaining compliance across all tax filings
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with clients, providing exceptional service and addressing their tax-related inquiries
  • Handle additional tax-related tasks during peak periods to support the team and meet deadlines
  • Collaborate with colleagues to identify and resolve discrepancies in tax filings or data
  • Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure accurate application in tax preparation
  • Manage high volumes of data entry work while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy
  • Provide insights and recommendations to clients based on their tax situations, enhancing their financial outcomes

Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience in tax preparation, including individual and business tax returns
  • Proficiency in Intuit ProConnect Tax Online, with multi-season experience strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated expertise in preparing business tax returns, ensuring compliance and accuracy
  • Exceptional attention to detail and comfort with data-intensive work
  • Detail-oriented and personable demeanor with a commitment to excellent client service
  • Ability to manage additional workload during busy periods with efficiency and reliability
  • Strong understanding of general accounting principles, including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliation
  • Familiarity with corporate and individual tax processes, including month-end close procedures
