Job Description

We are looking for a tax specialist to join a public accounting team in Florida. This position is well suited for someone who has hands-on experience preparing returns, values strong client relationships, and takes pride in delivering accurate, timely work. Job Responsibility

  • Prepare tax filings for individuals, corporations, partnerships, trusts, and high-net-worth clients with a strong focus on accuracy and completeness
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients by requesting documentation, answering tax-related questions, and following up on outstanding items
  • Respond to tax authority notices and assist with written and verbal communications on behalf of clients when issues arise
  • Organize and maintain client tax records, workpapers, and supporting documentation to keep engagements current and audit-ready
  • Partner with firm leadership to address client needs, resolve tax matters, and support planning around ongoing engagements
  • Build strong client relationships through timely, clear communication and dependable follow-through on deliverables
  • Use tax preparation and accounting software to complete returns efficiently and manage client information accurately
  • Take ownership of assigned engagements from initial document collection through final delivery while meeting established deadlines

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • CPA is required
  • Prior experience preparing tax returns in a public accounting or client-focused services setting is required
  • Working knowledge of individual, corporate, partnership, trust, or high-net-worth tax engagements is preferred
  • Comfort interacting directly with clients in a detail-oriented, service-oriented manner is strongly preferred
  • Experience handling tax notices and communicating with taxing authorities is a plus
  • Proficiency with tools such as UltraTax, QuickBooks, and Excel is preferred
  • Strong organizational skills, clear communication, and the ability to work independently while contributing to a team are essential
