The Talent & Organizational Development Consultant provides strategic and consultative support to the Manager of Organizational & Talent Development and division leadership. This position exercises independent judgment in guiding organizational design, position management, and talent strategies that align with university and state classification standards. The role leads projects related to succession planning, workforce analytics, and process optimization, ensuring operational continuity and compliance. It also researches and implements best practices in talent acquisition and professional development to strengthen workforce capability and engagement.
Job Responsibility:
Provides strategic and consultative support to the Manager of Organizational & Talent Development and division leadership
Exercises independent judgment in guiding organizational design, position management, and talent strategies that align with university and state classification standards
Leads projects related to succession planning, workforce analytics, and process optimization, ensuring operational continuity and compliance
Researches and implements best practices in talent acquisition and professional development to strengthen workforce capability and engagement
Requirements:
Master’s degree in Business Administration or Public Administration or related field of study required
Or a bachelor’s degree in a related field of study with related work experience equivalent to a master’s degree
Basic knowledge of position management, classification systems, recruitment processes, performance management, and succession planning
Ability to accurately manage a tracking system including data entry, reporting, and position tracking
Strong written and verbal communication
Proficiency in Microsoft products including Teams
Working knowledge of workflow optimization
Proven ability to manage sensitive personnel data with discretion and integrity
Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with Human Resources, administration, and department teams
Nice to have:
Working knowledge of higher education
Basic experience in talent management to include state hiring processes
