Job Description:

The Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning Manager – Asia Pacific excluding Greater China (APEC), based in India, will play a critical role in supporting Marriott’s growth and talent strategy by leading recruitment efforts across APEC, with a focus on hotel Executive Committee (ExCom) and Department Head roles in South Asia. Reporting to the Senior Director of Talent Acquisition & Talent Management Solutions – APEC, this position will also extend support to broader APEC markets and contribute to global talent acquisition projects, including the development of an insourced recruitment model and strategic workforce planning. The ideal candidate will bring knowledge of APEC and India talent market, strong stakeholder engagement skills, and hands-on experience in senior-level recruitment, recruitment platforms, and data-driven hiring strategies. The candidate should thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment and be passionate about delivering scalable, high-impact talent acquisition strategies across a diverse and dynamic region.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide pre-opening recruitment support to APEC markets, in coordination with Regional Discipline Leaders and local hiring teams
  • Partner with Area Discipline Leaders, General Managers, and HR teams to understand hiring needs, develop sourcing strategies, and deliver quality hires aligned to business priorities
  • Share best practices across the region to ensure consistent, high-quality recruitment standards and candidate experiences
  • Support South Asia, especially India, in managing pre-opening recruitment for hotel Executive Committee and Department Head roles
  • Leverage knowledge of India’s talent landscape, recruitment channels, regional workforce trends, and cultural nuances to advise hiring managers and shape recruitment approaches
  • Contribute to global talent acquisition initiatives, including the design and setup of an insourced recruitment delivery model—participating in workforce modeling, tool development, and operational planning
  • Represent APEC perspectives in cross-regional talent projects and support implementation of new initiatives, systems, or delivery models
  • Build and maintain strong pipelines of external talent through direct sourcing, referrals, digital platforms, and industry networks tailored to hiring needs
  • Actively use recruitment platforms such as LinkedIn Recruiter and engage with talent communities to enhance reach and visibility
  • Collaborate with outsourced providers to optimize sourcing efforts, while strengthening internal capabilities for future scalability
  • Act as a trusted advisor to Area Discipline Leaders, General Managers, and hotel HR teams in APEC, offering strategic counsel on talent acquisition trends and best practices
  • Support property HR leaders in onboarding and capability-building around Marriott’s recruitment processes and tools
  • Drive strategic workforce planning initiatives to proactively address talent gaps and succession needs
  • Partner with Talent Management teams to identify internal talent for leadership roles and track development and mobility plans
  • Review and analyze talent acquisition metrics (e.g. time-to-fill, quality of hire, sourcing mix) and use data to drive action plans for process improvements and stakeholder alignment
  • Hands-on use of applicant tracking systems (ATS) and other TA tools to manage workflows, pipelines, and reporting
  • Stay informed on hiring trends, sourcing innovations, compensation benchmarks, and competitor activity to inform talent strategies

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in managerial recruitment in a corporate or agency setting
  • Proven success in recruitment of leadership roles and in driving strategic workforce planning
  • Experience in supporting multi-country recruitment, with exposure to broader APEC markets
  • Strong understanding of the India talent ecosystem, cultural nuances, employment regulations, and sourcing dynamics
  • Hands-on experience with ATS platforms and recruitment tools such as LinkedIn Recruiter or other sourcing technologies
  • Ability to analyze and act on talent acquisition metrics to improve performance and stakeholder outcomes
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills, with ability to influence senior-level leaders
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and reporting skills in English
  • Experience in the hospitality industry or a service-driven sector is advantageous
  • Agile, proactive, and comfortable working in a matrixed, remote, and cross-cultural environment
