Job Description

Barbaricum is seeking highly capable Mid-Level Tactical Domain Systems Engineers to provide comprehensive technical and analytical support for mission planning systems across USSOCOM Components, TSOCs, PEO SDA, and designated foreign military partners. This role ensures that mission planning, execution, and post-mission systems and devices remain fully operational in support of peacetime and wartime special operations. You will be directly responsible for supporting both urgent and routine system maintenance and enhancements, enabling a sustained system/device availability rate of 95% and a 24-hour maintenance turnaround within CONUS and manned OCONUS locations. Your mission is to help ensure warfighters operate with fully serviceable and reliable technology at all times.

Job Responsibility

  • Deliver technical system support across five core areas: Tactical Software Support
  • Mapping, Imagery, and Geospatial Information System (GIS) Support
  • Tactical Network Administration Support
  • Training Support
  • Enhancement and Upgrade Support
  • Perform all mission planning system/device support within two operational levels: Level I (Critical/Urgent): Complete within 72 hours of notification or sooner based on mission requirements
  • Level II (Routine): Complete within 30 days or per the mission’s operational tempo
  • Maintain system/device readiness across varying global assignments, adapting to changing mission requirements and designated locations within the scope of the Performance Work Statement (PWS)
  • Execute mission-critical maintenance and system optimization to meet strict serviceability benchmarks under both contingency and combat support scenarios
  • Work under the direction of the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR), who will assign task urgency and support categorization based on mission analysis

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field
  • OR Technical School Certificate related to computer systems
  • OR Equivalent technical training with directly aligned experience in lieu of degree
  • Minimum 2 years (within the last 8) of operational experience supporting the assigned Component
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in one or more of the following: Mission planning for aircraft weapons systems
  • Mission planning computer systems
  • Navigation systems, tactical communications, or mission equipment
  • Development of unit mission plans for special operations (peacetime and wartime)
  • Proficiency with the assigned Component’s tactical SOPs and mission guides
  • Strong working knowledge of operational tactics and procedures of the supported SOF component
  • Active Secret Clearance with TS eligibility is required for all locations

Candidates will have proficiency or high potential to gain some level of proficiency to enable and train software capabilities across three “domains”: (1) Operations, (2) Intelligence warfighting functions and (3) tactical Mission Planning and Execution domain
