Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Tactical Data Link Database Analysis in support of the Air Force Division. eSMART is a SQL based database analysis toolset developed to allow programs to document how they implement Tactical Data Link Military Standards. The toolset is used to conduct cross platform interoperability analysis as well as used to define test requirements.
Job Responsibility:
Deploy and track the latest updated versions of the iSMART/ESMART toolset across the DoD
Provide updated releases of the toolset on a schedule determined by the Government
Register applications and systems within the Enterprise Information Technology Data Repository (EITDR)
Provide technical assistance to users on the iSMART process and the ESMART tool to acquisition programs and other users
Answer help desk type questions for weapon system program office (SPO) platform TDL integration questions related to proper use of the ESMART tool and interpretation ESMART tool data
Assist in the preparation and delivery of updated iSMART/ESMART training materials and support quarterly training (4 classes) for approximately 8-10 students per class
Coordinate with ESMART vendor as necessary for updated training material
Develop and maintain iSMART data capture principals and an ESMART configuration management plan
Research individual platform TDL implementations to ensure Joint and combined interoperability capabilities and limitations are documented
Assist with collection of TDL implementation data for new and legacy platforms, data forwarders, data translators, and TDN gateways and transform it into ESMART toolset data
Research and gather information to develop Background Papers, staff studies, or presentation materials as assigned by the Government
Requirements:
Associates Degree in a technical field (computer science, information technology)
Security+ Certification
At least five (5) years’ of demonstrated technical experience (within past 10 yrs)
At least 2 yrs' experience (w/in the past 7 yrs) with MS SQL Server
Basic understanding of Tactical Data Link (TDL) Military Standards (MIL-STDs 6016, 6017, 3011, 6022) would be beneficial but not necessary for the right candidate
Nice to have:
Be able to take initiative and be a self-starter
Understanding of USAF IT and Cybersecurity processes to assist in installation of toolset on end user’s systems
Ability to obtain USAF IT system administration rights to support USAF local system eSMART installations
Understanding of Tactical Data Link platform implementation documentation using the Interoperability Systems Management and Requirements Transformation (ISMART) process is desired but not necessary
