Randstad is currently working with a sovereign defence manufacturer of high-tech defence systems that is integrated onto various defence platforms operating in mission critical environments. They are looking for an experienced Systems Safety Engineer who specialises in Systems Safety Engineering to work with their project engineering team. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity based in Adelaide.
Job Responsibility:
Lead system safety activities for the project, serving as the primary subject matter expert on matters relating to systems safety
Conduct safety assessments for new designs and design modifications, provide critical analysis of potential impacts on system safety
Manage and maintain comprehensive hazard logs and risk control plans, ensuring alignment with Defence safety standards and regulatory requirements
Represent the company at high-level safety working groups and executive meetings, presenting technical findings and recommendations to key stakeholders
Requirements:
Tertiary Engineering degree (eligible to be MIEAUST)
Qualification or training in System Safety (Highly Desirable)
Minimum of 5 -6 years experience in Systems Safety Engineering within Defence
Understanding and knowledge of defence systems safety standards e.g. MIL-STD-882
Experience in performing hazard identification and analysis tasks, and preparing Safety Case Reports, Hazard Logs
Knowledge of systems engineering practices and applicable standards within defence
Excellent problem solving skills with attention to details in writing precise technical reports
The candidate must be an Australian citizen, and have eligibility to obtain a NV1 clearance
