The Veteran Experienced Talent (VET) Program is a 6-week direct hire program designed to connect Veterans with meaningful career opportunities. Candidates are hired as full-time employees. Wells Fargo is seeking a skilled and reliable Systems Operations Associate to join our IT Infrastructure team. This position requires troubleshooting skills, a fundamental understanding of the Linux operating system, and the ability to work effectively in a fast -paced, collaborative environment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide technical systems support for issues and initiatives related to applications, systems, databases, or other technical products and services within Systems Operations business area
  • Review basic or tactical technical issues
  • Identify gaps in current technology process
  • Recommend appropriate information technology changes
  • Receive direction from supervisors and exercise judgment within defined parameters while developing understanding of compliance and risk management requirements for supported system area
  • Evaluate or review queries, update or write documentation and procedures, and provide related technical training
  • Provide technical information in the supported system area to managers, functional colleagues, and stakeholders, including internal customers
  • Responsible for day-to-day administration, maintenance, and support of Linux based systems in a 24/7 enterprise environment
  • Play a key role in ensuring system stability, performance, and security, while contributing to automation efforts and continuous service improvement

Requirements:

  • 6+ months of Technology Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • Service in any branch of the United States military
  • Must be off active duty no later than the anticipated start date
  • Ability to work on-site at approved location listed

Nice to have:

  • Experience developing and executing Ansible Playbooks
  • Customer‑focused mindset with a commitment to service excellence
  • Strong Unix/Linux systems administration skills (Red Hat, Ubuntu, CentOS)
  • Proficiency in shell scripting (Bash, KSH, etc.)
  • Expertise in file system and storage management (LVM, NFS, SAN/NAS)
  • Solid understanding of user/access management (LDAP, sudo, PAM)
  • Hands-on experience with patching and system updates
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls)
  • Ability to support high‑availability of environments and clustering technologies
  • Proficiency with ServiceNow and Jira for ticketing, reporting, and dashboards
  • Ability to build PowerBI or Tableau dashboards
  • Strong documentation and clear communication skills
  • Proven collaboration with cross‑functional teams (network, storage, application teams)
  • Experience working in highly regulated Financial Technology (FinTech) environments
