Vedo Systems is looking for a passionate systems engineer who is ready to apply their skills to NASA's Space Reactor 1 Freedom (SR-1F) Program. You will work with a talented team to support the SR-1 Freedom Mission Validation, Testing and Operations group. SR-1F is a pioneer project with an accelerated timeline to deliver payloads to Mars orbit while demonstrating a nuclear power system which will benefit both lunar and deep space exploration. SR-1F is being developed by a small team divided among multiple NASA centers and industry partners. This position requires extensive collaboration with Validation stakeholders such as vehicle subsystem Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), V&V facilities teammates, and Safety and Mission Assurance personnel. Strong communication skills are essential. Success in this position will depend on the candidate's ability to fully understand and vet stakeholder requirements, dig into planned simulator, emulator, and test facility capabilities and fidelity, and ultimately design validation scenarios, test plans and additional validation artifacts to ensure the validation test campaign is complete and sound.
Job Responsibility
Understand and decompose the SR-1F Concept of Operations
Coordinate with SR-1F stakeholders
Develop and review SR-1F Validation testing products, including integrated validation scenarios, detailed test objectives, test plans, and closure notices
Review Hazard Reports and other Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) data to support test planning
Engage in SR-1F Validation, Testing, and Operations meetings
build and review integrated validation and testing documentation as directed
Perform Risk Assessments for validation objectives and test scenarios to be used for test planning prioritization
Develop requirements for simulators and emulators to be used in Validation activities
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in engineering
5 years' experience in systems engineering, or a related technical field
Broad understanding across Systems Engineering Disciplines. Specifically, Systems Engineering and Integration, ConOps Development, Risk Assessment, Test Operations, Assembly and Integration, and Test and Verification
Software and/or hardware testing experience
Ability to learn tools and processes quickly
Organized, methodical approach to problem solving and information capture
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Nice to have
10+ years experience in systems engineering, or related technical field
Experience with large system Verification and Validation planning and execution for aerospace systems
Knowledge of test procedure development
Experience with the NASA Systems Development Lifecycle, Life Cycle Reviews, and associated products
