Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Systems Engineer to join our insurance industry client in Madison, Wisconsin in a contract role with the potential for a permanent position. This onsite position works closely with technical teams and end users to maintain core infrastructure, support modern workplace technologies, and resolve escalated issues with a strong service mindset. The ideal candidate brings broad Microsoft systems administration expertise, comfort with BI and data analytics environments, and the ability to contribute effectively in a collaborative team setting.

Job Responsibility

  • Provide hands-on administration and support for enterprise systems, with a focus on Microsoft-based infrastructure and end-user platforms
  • Manage and troubleshoot Microsoft 365 services, including collaboration, identity, device management, and related cloud technologies
  • Handle advanced support escalations by diagnosing complex technical issues and driving timely, effective resolutions for internal customers
  • Administer core environment components such as Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Windows Server, and Exchange
  • Support endpoint management and security operations through Intune and related tools to maintain device compliance and protection standards
  • Partner with colleagues across the IT team to strengthen system reliability, improve user experience, and maintain a high level of customer service
  • Contribute to BI and data analytics support needs by helping sustain underlying systems and resolving platform-related issues
  • Monitor system health, apply configuration changes, and perform ongoing maintenance to keep infrastructure secure, stable, and efficient

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in systems engineering or systems administration roles within enterprise environments
  • Strong hands-on experience with Active Directory, Microsoft Windows Server, Microsoft 365 Enterprise, and Exchange administration
  • Working knowledge of Azure Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID for identity and access management
  • Experience supporting Intune or Windows Intune for endpoint administration and policy enforcement
  • Familiarity with Citrix technologies and Microsoft Teams in a business environment
  • Understanding of IT security principles, including endpoint security, email security, configuration security, and general cyber security practices
  • Demonstrated ability to manage escalated support issues while delivering excellent customer service
