We are looking for an experienced Systems Engineer to join our insurance industry client in Madison, Wisconsin in a contract role with the potential for a permanent position. This onsite position works closely with technical teams and end users to maintain core infrastructure, support modern workplace technologies, and resolve escalated issues with a strong service mindset. The ideal candidate brings broad Microsoft systems administration expertise, comfort with BI and data analytics environments, and the ability to contribute effectively in a collaborative team setting.
Job Responsibility
Provide hands-on administration and support for enterprise systems, with a focus on Microsoft-based infrastructure and end-user platforms
Manage and troubleshoot Microsoft 365 services, including collaboration, identity, device management, and related cloud technologies
Handle advanced support escalations by diagnosing complex technical issues and driving timely, effective resolutions for internal customers
Administer core environment components such as Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Windows Server, and Exchange
Support endpoint management and security operations through Intune and related tools to maintain device compliance and protection standards
Partner with colleagues across the IT team to strengthen system reliability, improve user experience, and maintain a high level of customer service
Contribute to BI and data analytics support needs by helping sustain underlying systems and resolving platform-related issues
Monitor system health, apply configuration changes, and perform ongoing maintenance to keep infrastructure secure, stable, and efficient
Requirements
5+ years of experience in systems engineering or systems administration roles within enterprise environments
Strong hands-on experience with Active Directory, Microsoft Windows Server, Microsoft 365 Enterprise, and Exchange administration
Working knowledge of Azure Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID for identity and access management
Experience supporting Intune or Windows Intune for endpoint administration and policy enforcement
Familiarity with Citrix technologies and Microsoft Teams in a business environment
Understanding of IT security principles, including endpoint security, email security, configuration security, and general cyber security practices
Demonstrated ability to manage escalated support issues while delivering excellent customer service

Security+ certification or comparable security-focused knowledge
