We are seeking a motivated and experienced systems engineer to help design and develop analytical instruments. The successful candidate will work with an experienced team to bring high-performance, market-leading products to market worldwide. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and testing components and systems for high-performance, market-leading analytical instruments. You will work closely with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers, applications scientists, and product managers to ensure that new products meet demanding requirements.
Job Responsibility:
Design and develop hardware components and systems including analog and digital circuits, sensors, data acquisition systems, and signal processing modules
Integrate hardware components into complete analytical instrument systems, ensuring seamless operation and compatibility with software and firmware
Build and test prototypes of hardware systems, iterating designs based on performance feedback and results of testing
Develop test plans and procedures for validating hardware components and systems. Conduct thorough testing to ensure reliability, accuracy, and compliance with regulatory standards
Identify and resolve hardware issues during development, testing, and manufacturing phases. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and optimize performance
Create comprehensive documentation including schematics, design specifications, test reports, and user manuals for hardware components and systems
Collaborate with hardware and software engineers, scientists, and product managers to define system requirements, establish design specifications, and ensure alignment between hardware and software components
Keep up with advancements in hardware technologies, industry trends, and regulatory requirements related to analytical instruments. Continuously improve hardware designs and processes to enhance product performance and reliability
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred
Proven experience in hardware design and development, preferably in the field of analytical instrument development or a related industry
Proficiency with mechanical and electronic design tools such as SolidWorks or Altium Designer
Strong knowledge of analog and digital circuit design, signal processing, and sensor integration
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Effective communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams
Nice to have:
Familiarity with regulatory standards such as FDA, ISO, and CE for medical devices or analytical instruments is a plus
