Robert Half is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to support a municipality based in Kent, WA. This role will serve as the primary technical resource for Microsoft 365 collaboration services. This position is 3-6 month contract with potential to convert to hire and is 100% Onsite in Kent, WA.
Job Responsibility:
Serve as the primary engineer for Microsoft 365 collaboration and communications services, including Microsoft Teams, Teams Phone, SharePoint Online, and OneDrive for Business
Configure, deploy, administer, and support Teams Phone capabilities including Direct Routing, Operator Connect, call queues, auto attendants, voicemail, voice routing, emergency calling, PSTN integrations, and policy management
Perform advanced troubleshooting for Microsoft Teams and Teams Phone issues including call quality, connectivity, audio/video performance, and service-impacting incidents
Administer Microsoft 365 collaboration services and coordinate with Exchange, Security, and Identity administrators on tenant-wide configurations and changes
Respond to and resolve service requests and incidents in accordance with established SLAs and IT service management practices
Participate in scheduled maintenance, upgrades, migrations, feature rollouts, and continuous service improvement initiatives
Coordinate with internal teams, vendors, carriers, and service providers to support integrations, upgrades, and issue resolution
Develop and maintain technical documentation including system configurations, procedures, runbooks, and troubleshooting guides
Follow established change management, security, and documentation procedures to meet government and regulatory requirements
Support additional enterprise infrastructure and systems initiatives as assigned
Requirements:
Strong hands-on experience supporting Microsoft 365 collaboration environments
Strong emphasis in collaborative communication and high emotional intelligence
Experience administering Microsoft Teams, Teams Phone, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Entra ID, and hybrid Microsoft 365 environments
Knowledge of Exchange Online, Active Directory, Microsoft Entra Connect, hybrid identity synchronization, and SMTP relay configurations
Familiarity with ITIL and IT Service Management best practices, including change management processes
Understanding of enterprise infrastructure concepts including server operating systems, virtualization, enterprise storage, backup technologies, and cybersecurity fundamentals
Strong troubleshooting, organizational, communication, and documentation skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Experience working in a government or highly regulated environment is preferred
