Primary Function: The Systems Engineer will utilize multidisciplinary engineering experience and knowledge to guide the engineering process for complex projects while integrating a cross-functional team into a cohesive effort, working towards a common goal so that the implemented system meets the project objectives and requirements in an efficient way. They will provide technical leadership to the project team; client stakeholders, project managers, and engineering disciplines.
Job Responsibility:
Gather, define, refine and continuously manage product project requirements
Create and maintain requirements related documentation
ensure sufficient consideration of safety, reliability and regulatory needs
Define system and constituent subsystem interfaces
conduct physical/mathematical modeling, simulation and analysis
arbitrate interdisciplinary trade-off decisions
experimentally validate concepts through rapid prototyping
Act as technical representative both internally and externally to assess and ensure requirements compliance, minimize misunderstandings, convey status, ask questions, provide answers
ensure internal engineering standards and review processes are adhered to
Follow Business Technology policies to protect sensitive data and reduce information security occurrences
Requirements:
Bachelors in Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics
At least 7 years professional experience (4 years w/ Masters) in one or more engineering disciplines
Has extensive breadth and depth of knowledge in a specialized field of engineering and is familiar with practical engineering practices related to Electrical/Electronics, Software, Firmware, and Mechanical disciplines
Capable of clearly defining technical approaches and solutions
Experience with structured design approaches, systematic problem solving, root cause analysis, reliability analysis, and design for safety and regulatory requirements
Experience with physical and mathematical system modeling and the use of tools such as Python (numpy/scipy, pandas, Jupyter)
