As a Systems Engineer, you will play a central role in developing market‑leading marine craft and components, delivering systems expertise across the full product lifecycle. You will lead system‑level work, define requirements, architecture and technical specifications, and act as a technical authority to ensure all solutions meet safety, environmental and regulatory standards. The role includes coordinating with suppliers, championing Systems Engineering best practice, and maintaining the tools, methods and processes that ensure seamless integration across internal and external systems.
Job Responsibility:
Implementing and tailoring Systems Engineering processes, methods, and best practices to suit individual project needs
Working alongside product capability managers to elicit and document stakeholder requirements
Preparation and management of system and sub-system technical requirements
Creation of engineering documentation such as system requirements, specifications, procedures, and reports
Working with engineers and testing team ensuring integration, verification, validation, and qualification activities are carried out against requirements
Site visits to other JFD offices and client assets as and when required
Accountability and responsibility as technical checker of documentation generated in support of the systems engineer role
Integration of systems on crafts, including complex communications between systems
Requirements:
Demonstrated experience in a similar role
Experience in embedding Systems Engineering into an engineering function
Knowledge of both regulatory standards and directives
Engineering degree, electrical is advantageous
Experience from defence or marine industry
Excellent communication skills in both Swedish and English
Organised, methodical and detail‑focused
Able to work independently or as part of a team
Adaptable to changing demands
Commitment to ownership, high‑quality delivery, and cost‑efficient solutions
Nice to have:
Knowledge of a requirement capture tool such as Jama Connect or IBM Doors
Knowledge of design for functional safety compliance, particularly IEC 61508
Knowledge of design for CE and UKCA Compliance
INCOSE ASEP or CSEP certification or working towards these
Chartered Engineer or working towards CEng
Experience from vehicle design and/or construction, marine applications meriting
Experience of safety critical systems withing aerospace, vehicle or other relevant industries
Knowledge of INCOSE Systems Engineering processes and methods
