A123 Systems LLC is hiring a Systems Engineer. In this position, the Systems Engineer serves as the customer interface for battery system design, coordinates the tasks of the supporting Systems Engineers, and performs the tasks of a Systems Engineer. May require domestic and international travel up to 10% of the time to customer sites for troubleshooting in-vehicle.
Job Responsibility
Analyzing customer or core product requirements and developing system design solutions to be further implemented by Hardware, Software, and Mechanical Engineers.
Developing BMS System Specifications according to agreed-upon customer requirements.
Creating Electrical Interface and Control Documents.
Supporting BMS and battery pack validation on BMS and Pack HIL test benches.
Developing BMS control system algorithms in Rhapsody Environment.
Developing and maintaining requirements using the IBM DOORS and Doors Next Generation Environment.
Performing root cause analysis of customer and internal software bugs and develop mitigation actions.
Planning SW sprints and preparing software content.
Proactively managing changes in project scope.
Contributing to process improvement activities.
Following development processes and tool chain implementation to support the development quality goals.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Systems Engineering, or related field plus 2 years of experience in a systems engineering role. Alternatively, will accept a Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Systems Engineering, or related field.
Must have: Experience in requirements management and architecture design for BMS and Energy Storage Systems. Experience using MATLAB/Simulink for BMS plant modeling. Proficient knowledge of BMS features, particularly SOX algorithms (SOC, SOH, SOE). Hands-on experience with SysML/MBSE concepts in IBM Rhapsody for BMS systems. Hands-on experience on BMS Hardware-in-Loop Testing and Pack HiL Testing with NI Test stand tools. Experience in developing Electrical Interface and Control Document and HW-SW Interface Specifications. Proficiency with requirements management tools such as IBM Rational DOORS, DOORS Next Gen, and JIRA. Strong programming skills in embedded systems languages (C, C++, MATLAB, Simulink).
