Job Description

KAIROS, Inc is searching for an energetic, experienced, and highly motivated Systems Engineer, Journeyman to join our team. This position will be onsite in Pax River, MD. This position will support the Systems Engineering Department (SED) at Patuxent River Naval Air Station. The program is providing systems engineering support of weapons systems on various platforms, including technical research and development of technologies, analysis, and documentation as part of the acquisition of Aircraft, Weapon, and Integrated Systems and the evaluation of their technical performance, mission suitability and associated acquisition risks throughout the full acquisition process and lifecycle of a program.

Job Responsibility

  • Support the Systems Engineering Department (SED) at Patuxent River Naval Air Station
  • Provide systems engineering support of weapons systems on various platforms, including technical research and development of technologies, analysis, and documentation as part of the acquisition of Aircraft, Weapon, and Integrated Systems and the evaluation of their technical performance, mission suitability and associated acquisition risks throughout the full acquisition process and lifecycle of a program
  • Provides engineering and acquisition support to the Assistant Program Manager for Systems Engineering (APMSE) in the management of the T-6B Texan II - primary fixed-wing training aircraft
  • Support systems engineering activities related to sustainment, upgrades, and safety of the T-6B Texan II
  • Monitor system performance, integration and airworthiness
  • Coordinate with stakeholders across NAVAIR, training squadrons, and contractors to ensure fleet readiness and training mission effectiveness
  • Contribute to risk management, technical documentation, and compliance with acquisition standards
