Job Description

Join the excitement at Power Design as a Design Estimator! This unique role collaborates with our Business Development, Estimating, and Operations Teams to create precise bid packages for our cutting-edge low voltage systems, including Fire Alarm, Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS), Audio Visual, Lighting Control, CCTV, access control, and structured cabling systems. Based out of our corporate headquarters in St. Petersburg, Florida, this position in our Technology Solutions Design division is positioned not only for impact, but exponential growth.

Job Responsibility

  • Manage the estimating process from beginning to end, including timelines, deadlines, and estimating packages
  • Communicate with vendors and both internal and external clients to build relationships, define the project scope, address any deficiencies, and negotiate pricing
  • Continuously follow up on all bid projects and accurately forecast future awards
  • Stay up-to-date with current technology trends in low voltage systems

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in low voltage integration projects
  • 2 or more years of technical low voltage estimating experience
  • Knowledge of residential and commercial low voltage technologies, including WiFi, CCTV, access controls, and structured cabling systems
  • Demonstrated expertise with products from industry leaders
  • Proven experience with Systems Technologies, including Fire Alarm, DAS, Audio Visual, and Lighting Control
  • Demonstrated ability interpreting construction documents and bid proposals
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word) and estimating software (Accubid preferred)
  • Ability to maintain excellent relationships and provide a high level of customer service
