Job Description

The candidate is a contributor who leads the team in designing the AI server product. He will be part of a board design team working with a cross-functional team to deliver the highest-quality proposal/product to the customer. He understands customer requirements, is familiar with test progress, and can discuss details directly with the customer.

Job Responsibility

  • Cross-functional work ability – able to work with functions to design AMD AI product solutions
  • Design review ability – able to provide design review results that include hardware block-level, circuit, and layout, and recommendations
  • Issue Investigation ability- able to debug/prioritize issues found during the process, bring-up, validation, and production phases
  • Discuss/Define switch spec ability: able to understand customer RFQ and able to discuss the spec with customers
  • Review testing ability – able to review the switch testing coverage and items, consolidate testing items to improve testing efficiency

Requirements

  • 16+ years of industry experience in server hardware and product developmen
  • Extensive experience with a cross-functional design team
  • Extensive experience with AI server product design and test process
  • Extensive experience with board/platform-level debugging, including delivery, sequencing, analysis, and issue prioritization
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical or computer engineering

  • Own the endtoend power architecture for x86 platforms (desktop, notebook, or server), spanning APU/CPU, memory, chipset, PCIe, and auxiliary power rails
  • Design, simulate, and optimize high-efficiency DC-DC power solutions for battery life and high-performance CPU/APU platforms
  • Schematic design, PCB layout reviews, and component selection to meet power delivery requirement (e.g., voltage ripple, transient response, efficiency etc.)
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Arch, EE, thermal, layout, SI/PI etc.) to delivery motherboard reference board on time
  • Conduct PDN(power delivery network) simulation and analysis, ensure power integrity
  • Handle system-level power optimization, from platform hardware (SoC, display, WIFI, SSD, charger, connectivity etc.) to firmware (BIOS/UEFI, EC), ensuring superior battery life
  • Perform fullstack idle power breakdown, measurement, and bottleneck identification
  • Own batterylife KPI improvements across platform/silicon / firmware / system layers
  • Improve VR/PDN lightload efficiency and cooperate with power architecture teams
