We are looking for a dynamic, energetic and a strong Debug Engineer to join our growing team.Technical leader responsible for System and Silicon Debug of AMD Embedded products. The successful candidate will work as part of the post-silicon validation group, facilitating all aspects of debug and resolution for system or silicon level failures working with engineering teams across AMD. Candidate will be immersed in challenging work, developing & executing debug strategy for optimal debug throughput on current product to meet project milestones at POR quality. The candidate should be able to work in a global environment while maintaining a synergetic culture.
Job Responsibility:
Identify, isolate, and debug hardware and firmware issues using tools like Scan dump, Trace Tools, logic analyzers and oscilloscopes
Create and maintain test scripts and automation frameworks for regression and stress testing
Analyze silicon behavior and correlate with pre-silicon models and simulations
Document validation results, debug findings, and provide detailed reports to stakeholders
Supporting bring-up activities and contribute to platform stability and readiness
Requirements:
4+ years of experience in post-silicon validation and debug, specifically on x86 platforms
Good understanding of System Architecture, x86 architecture, CPU subsystems, memory hierarchy, and I/O interfaces like PCIe, DDR, USB, ethernet
Proficiency in using lab tools: logic analyzers, protocol analyzers, oscilloscopes, etc.
Good understanding of x86 FW and BIOS Architecture
Good knowledge in X86 architecture, SoC design, memory, RAS & power management
Experience with scripting languages (Python / Perl) for automation improvements
Familiarity with firmware and low-level software interaction with hardware
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities
Must be self-driven and be able to bring out productive, collaborative atmosphere
Exposure to silicon debug tools like Intel Trace Hub, DCI, or similar
Experience with platform bring-up and BIOS/UEFI validation
Bachelors or Masters degree in electrical or computer engineering
