Responsible for managing and performing highly skilled technical operations within a critical facility data center. This role supports day-to-day maintenance needs, monitors Building Management Systems (BMS), oversees utility plants, and maintains air-conditioning and mechanical systems to ensure continuous, safe, and reliable operations.
Job Responsibility:
Manage and perform highly skilled technical operations within a critical facility data center
Monitor BMS systems, utility plants, air-conditioning systems, and all supporting infrastructure
Perform or manage preventive maintenance, installations, inspections, troubleshooting, adjustments, repairs, and replacement of rotating equipment
Perform inspections and testing of refrigeration systems, safety devices, and controls
Manage electrical voltage distribution and controls, including UPS systems, PDUs, generators, and switchgear
Inspect and examine chillers, air compressors, heat exchangers, medium- and low-voltage switchgear, and auxiliary equipment
Manage chemicals for cooling towers, chillers, and other critical facilities systems
Monitor and update Energy Management Control Systems and Building Management Systems (BMS)
Troubleshoot and take corrective action for major malfunctions or breakdowns involving HVAC, refrigeration, pumps, coils, fans, and related systems
Manage third-party vendor teams, including electrical and mechanical service providers
Observe and adhere to all prescribed safety, work, and compliance rules and regulations
Supervise work on utility plant mechanical and electrical systems and components
Participate in agile teams supporting systems engineering projects
Translate requirements into solutions using existing options
Troubleshoot systems engineering solutions by researching issues, performing root cause analysis, and executing action plans
Support daily operations for existing systems engineering solutions by monitoring system health, reviewing logs, performing maintenance, and ensuring reliable service delivery
Participate in systems testing and document systems engineering processes and designs
Provide expert guidance and support to others
Build relationships with key stakeholders to identify business needs, implement solutions, and monitor progress
Model compliance with company policies, procedures, mission, values, and ethical standards
Requirements:
5+ years of extensive experience in one or more of the following trade categories (or a combination), with an understanding of how all three systems work together: Medium electrical voltage distribution and controls, including emergency power
Mechanical systems
Building management and automation controls
Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to supervise work on utility plant mechanical and electrical systems and components
Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, information systems, information technology, or related area
Option 2: 3 years’ experience in technology infrastructure engineering across areas such as compute, storage, network, mobility or virtualization related technologies
