Job Description

Aquila Technology is looking for a highly skilled System Administrator to support one of the nation’s leading defense research organizations. The team is seeking an IT system administrator to work with a team supporting various cutting-edge projects for undersea systems as well as daily operational IT and cybersecurity tasks. The candidate will support the IT activities for both classified and unclassified processing systems.

Job Responsibility

  • Installation, configuration, maintenance, and upgrades of computer workstations, servers and network infrastructure
  • Installation and maintenance of commercial software
  • Handling technical support requests for hardware and software issues
  • Automation of the Group's operational tasks
  • Managing and maintaining the Group's computer/IT supplies and spares
  • Specifying and ordering new computer systems and supplies
  • Documentation of IT procedures
  • Support for security procedures
  • IT support for org and field experiments, including field deployments
  • General User Desktop support

Requirements

  • Must have an Active Secret Clearance
  • Windows, and Linux operating systems in desktop and server environments
  • Scripting languages such as Shell, Python, or Perl
  • Rackmount and desktop x86-based computer hardware
  • Local- and Wide-Area Network design, including firewall and router configuration
  • Virtualization platforms such VMware ESX and VMware Workstation
  • Storage architectures including RAID, SAN, and NAS
  • Must have security+ certification
