Aquila Technology is looking for a highly skilled System Administrator to support one of the nation’s leading defense research organizations. The team is seeking an IT system administrator to work with a team supporting various cutting-edge projects for undersea systems as well as daily operational IT and cybersecurity tasks. The candidate will support the IT activities for both classified and unclassified processing systems.
Job Responsibility
Installation, configuration, maintenance, and upgrades of computer workstations, servers and network infrastructure
Installation and maintenance of commercial software
Handling technical support requests for hardware and software issues
Automation of the Group's operational tasks
Managing and maintaining the Group's computer/IT supplies and spares
Specifying and ordering new computer systems and supplies
Documentation of IT procedures
Support for security procedures
IT support for org and field experiments, including field deployments
General User Desktop support
Requirements
Must have an Active Secret Clearance
Windows, and Linux operating systems in desktop and server environments
Scripting languages such as Shell, Python, or Perl
Rackmount and desktop x86-based computer hardware
Local- and Wide-Area Network design, including firewall and router configuration
Virtualization platforms such VMware ESX and VMware Workstation
Storage architectures including RAID, SAN, and NAS
Strong Backup Experience and Proven Ability to Protect Mission Critical Data
Technologies including DNS, DHCP, Proxy and Load Balancing
UNIX platform, OSX, Cisco IOS
Virtualization Technologies (VMware, including ESXi and VCenter configuration)
Virtualization Technologies to include VM management, Snapshots, SANs and iSCSI Storage Systems
VM Ware ESXi and Associated Management Systems
