Job Description

Hands-on Systems Administrator supporting a high-throughput manufacturing environment. Focus on stabilizing infrastructure currently under strain (lean on-site team). Bridge IT and OT environments, working closely with manufacturing and factory teams. Administer Windows and Linux systems (server buildouts, imaging, virtualization, endpoint lifecycle). Troubleshoot hardware, software, server, network, and endpoint issues in a production-critical setting. Support air-gapped / isolated environments, including remote access solutions. Configure and support endpoints (connectivity, authentication, device-level issues). Maintain asset inventory, configuration management, and system documentation. Assist with low-voltage systems and complete infrastructure punch list items. Read and interpret architectural diagrams and support evolving workflows. Translate between production floor systems, staging environments, and IT infrastructure. Communicate system health, risks, and changes clearly to stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 3+ years Systems Administration experience in manufacturing, industrial, or high-throughput environments
  • Open to junior candidates who are motivated and eager to grow
  • Experience with air-gapped or isolated networks (including remote access)
  • Background in Systems, Network, or Security Administration
  • Strong Windows and Linux administration experience
  • Experience with server buildouts, virtualization, imaging, and endpoint lifecycle management
  • Experience with VMware (vCenter preferred) or enterprise platforms like NetApp, Pure, or VAST
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, servers, and networking
  • Experience with asset tracking, inventory management, and configuration control
  • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (VLANs)
  • Familiarity with automation (PowerShell or Ansible)
  • Understanding of security principles (access control, endpoint hardening, secure network design)
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Must be eligible to obtain a security clearance

Nice to have

  • Experience with MES, ERP, or factory systems
  • Exposure to OT environments (PLCs, SCADA, hybrid IT/OT)
  • Familiarity with Ignition or similar OT platforms
  • Experience with Terraform, Kubernetes, or SCCM
  • Military or defense background with air-gapped environments
