Robert Half is actively partnering with an Austin-based client to identify a Systems Administrator (contract). In this role, you will help protect the integrity of our systems while contributing to the evolution of our overall technology strategy. You’ll have the opportunity to take ownership of key initiatives, drive improvements, and support the organization’s ongoing innovation efforts from day one.
Job Responsibility:
Unified Communications Oversight: Manage, configure, and enhance enterprise communication platforms, including VoIP systems, SIP-based services, and cloud-hosted telephony solutions
System Management: Support and maintain a wide range of on‑premise, server-hosted, and cloud-based software environments, including collaboration platforms such as Google Workspace and Slack
Advanced Technical Support: Deliver Tier 2 support for internal teams and external partners, troubleshooting complex system and communication-related issues
Security Coordination: Partner with security teams to address threats and ensure compliance, utilizing tools such as endpoint protection and device security platforms
Infrastructure Collaboration: Escalate and coordinate issues with specialized teams—such as DevOps or Infrastructure—when needed
Hardware & Lifecycle Operations: Evaluate, procure, and support IT and communication hardware throughout its full lifecycle
Requirements:
VoIP & Telephony: Hands-on experience managing enterprise communication systems (e.g., Zoom Phone, Cisco platforms, RingCentral) and working with SIP/RTP technologies
Operating Systems Expertise: Proficiency administering both macOS and Windows environments
Hardware Troubleshooting: Experience supporting both Apple and Windows hardware, as well as telephony devices such as headsets, desk phones, and conference equipment
Device Management: Extensive familiarity with MDM platforms like JAMF, Intune, or Fleet
SaaS & Security Tools: Practical experience with tools such as Google Workspace, Slack, Active Directory, and modern endpoint security solutions
Nice to have:
Automation & Integrations: Exposure to workflow automation tools or APIs (e.g., Tines, BetterCloud)
Identity & Access Management: Understanding of IAM concepts and standards (SSO, MFA, SAML, OAuth2, OIDC)
Linux Knowledge: Experience managing Linux systems, particularly Ubuntu
Certifications: Relevant credentials such as Network+, Apple certifications, or specialized VoIP certifications
Education: Associate or Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
