We are looking for an experienced Service Desk Technician to join our Whangarei based Digital Service Desk team and help support our growing technology landscape. This is a hands‑on, customer‑focused role where you’ll provide IT support across the organisation, making sure our people have all the tools they need to succeed. In this role, you will provide day‑to‑day IT support across the Northpower environment, resolving incidents, managing service requests, and supporting users across a wide range of hardware and software platforms. You’ll work closely with other Digital teams, building strong relationships with internal users and external vendors while contributing to a positive and reliable support experience. This role is onsite and includes rostered shift work and on‑call responsibilities.
Job Responsibility:
Providing responsive IT support to internal customers
Troubleshooting and resolving incidents and service requests
Supporting end‑user devices including desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals
Delivering in‑person and remote support across the organisation
Maintaining accurate documentation, asset records, and knowledge base content
Assisting with purchasing, inventory management, and coordination of ICT equipment
Supporting Digital initiatives, projects, and continuous improvement activities
Requirements:
2+ years’ experience providing IT support in a Microsoft environment
Strong knowledge of end‑user device support, including mobile devices (iOS & Android)
Comfortable building, configuring, and supporting workstations
Experience with Microsoft 365 and core Office applications
ITIL experience or familiarity (certification is an advantage)
Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills
A customer‑focused mindset with the ability to manage competing priorities
A team player who adapts well to change
New Zealand work rights are required for the role
