This position is responsible for the University College’s server computing system; duties include installation, maintenance, upgrading of the hardware and software and interfacing with users to determine support needs. The individual participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure. The individual will assist project teams with technical issues in the initiation and planning phases of the project. These activities include the definition of needs, benefits, and technical strategy; research and development during the project life cycle; technical analysis and design; and support of operations staff in executing, testing and rolling out of solutions.
Job Responsibility:

Requirements:
A BSc degree in Computer Science or related field plus four (4) to six (6) years of computer experience
Systems Administration/System Engineer certification in Unix and Microsoft
Excellent communications and consultative skills
Good appreciation of departmental/collaborative opportunities and how to pursue them
The ability to follow technical instructions both verbal and written
The ability to solve system related problems by using diagnostic techniques and protocols
The ability to maintain confidentiality in regard to information processed, stored or accessed by the systems
