We are seeking a Systems Administrator responsible for managing, maintaining, and supporting Syntech’s server infrastructure and associated systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
Job Responsibility
Perform server administration activities, including managing user and group accounts, configuring security permissions and group policies, supporting print services, investigating event log warnings and errors, and monitoring system resources to ensure all components of the system architecture operate efficiently and cohesively
Monitor data center performance using established management tools, promptly addressing and resolving hardware-related issues as they arise
Build, configure, test, and maintain servers to support evolving organizational needs
Support and maintain internal IT infrastructure, including desktops, laptops, servers, SAN/NAS storage, system security updates, and backup solutions
Collaborate with help desk and cross-functional teams to identify root causes, assist with troubleshooting efforts, and provide technical support as needed
Conduct regular and scheduled system audits to ensure performance, security, and compliance standards are met
Develop and maintain documentation and technical specifications to support the planning and implementation of new systems and infrastructure upgrades
Continuously evaluate and enhance infrastructure by optimizing performance, streamlining processes, and implementing automation where appropriate
Partner with third-party vendors to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve software-related issues
Requirements
This is an on-site position with standard office hours of Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
occasional on-call and after-hours support is required.
Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred
equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Requires a consistent and dependable work history, ideally reflecting 3-5 years of tenure with each previous employer.
Demonstrated experience implementing, managing, and troubleshooting Microsoft Windows Server (2016–2022) technologies, including Active Directory, SQL Server, IIS, DFS, and DNS.
Experience working within a hybrid Windows/Linux environment is preferred.
Proficiency with scripting and automation tools such as PowerShell, Python, Ansible, and Power Automate.
Strong experience diagnosing and resolving client/server issues, supporting virtual environments, and assisting remote users.
Minimum of three years of experience with Microsoft 365, Windows Server Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, Group Policy, and Linux server environments.
Experience with virtualization technologies, with VMware preferred.
Solid understanding of IT security principles, practices, and regulatory requirements.
Working knowledge of disaster recovery solutions and supporting technologies.
Experience supporting enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is a plus.
Proven experience with change management processes and maintaining accurate technical documentation.
Familiarity with Microsoft Exchange, including user account setup, email archiving, and eDiscovery/litigation support.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with vendors, clients, and internal stakeholders.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities with strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to perform physical tasks as needed, including bending, stooping, and lifting up to 40 pounds for equipment setup and installations.
Relevant certifications such as Network+, Security+, ITIL, or other vendor-specific credentials are preferred.
