Job Description:

Systems Administrator position with responsibilities including server installation and maintenance, Active Directory administration, system monitoring and optimization, backup and disaster recovery management, patch management, Microsoft 365 administration, network infrastructure support, documentation, security policy enforcement, and IT project participation.

Job Responsibility:

Install, configure, and maintain Windows and/or Linux servers in physical and virtualized environments
Administer user accounts, group policies, and permissions through Active Directory, Azure AD, and related identity management tools
Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity
implement improvements to optimize uptime and efficiency
Manage enterprise backups, recovery solutions, and disaster recovery planning
Perform patch management, software updates, and vulnerability remediation across all systems
Administer Microsoft 365, Exchange, Teams, and other enterprise productivity tools
Support network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, and VPN configurations, in coordination with network engineers
Maintain system documentation, standard operating procedures, and configuration records
Implement and enforce IT security policies, access controls, and compliance requirements
Respond to and resolve escalated service desk tickets in a timely and professional manner
Participate in planning and execution of IT projects, upgrades, and migrations

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
or equivalent experience
3-5 years of experience as a Systems Administrator or equivalent technical role
Strong knowledge of Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) administration and Active Directory management
Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware vSphere, Hyper-V, or Azure Virtual Machines
Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and task automation
Working knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLANs)
Familiarity with monitoring and alerting tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Datadog)
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills

Nice to have:

Experience with cloud environments such as Microsoft Azure or AWS
Knowledge of security frameworks and compliance standards (NIST, ISO, SOC2)
Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Systems Administrator, VMware VCP, CompTIA Server+, or Azure Administrator Associate
Familiarity with endpoint management platforms (Intune, SCCM, JAMF)
