Job Description:

Robert Half is assisting a client in Naperville, IL, in finding a skilled Systems Administrator to join their team. The ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication abilities, paired with comprehensive technical expertise in systems hardware and software. This position requires someone with a proactive approach to system maintenance, optimization, and troubleshooting.

Job Responsibility:

Install, configure, and deploy operating system software, patches, and upgrades across servers
Analyze, identify, and solve complex hardware and software problems, ensuring minimal downtime
Configure and fine-tune operating systems, servers, and other IT infrastructure to maximize performance
Continuously monitor diverse systems to ensure performance, security, and reliability
Perform scheduled system backups, ensuring data integrity and rapid recovery during unforeseen incidents
Conduct full server builds, including rack-and-stack deployment, preparation of server environments, and ensuring proper documentation
Work closely with network administrators, IT support, and security teams to ensure cohesive IT operations

Requirements:

3–5 years of hands-on experience with the specific systems, hardware, and software relevant to the organization
Strong proficiency in systems installation, troubleshooting, and optimization
Professional certifications such as MCSA, MCSE, or SCSA are preferred
A bachelor’s or associate degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field
Exceptional analytical thinking, proactive communication, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
