Job Description:

The Customer Focused Testing team is seeking a Senior Systems/Software Engineer who thrives in a challenging, fast-paced environment. This position focuses on testing HPE storage products, evaluating application feasibility with HPE storage solutions, and reproducing customer issues in customer-like environments to help accelerate debugging and resolution. You will be part of a highly dynamic team.

Job Responsibility:

  • Champion customer-focused testing practices, advocate for issue resolution, and influence product quality
  • Design, implement, and execute customer-focused tests for data storage product offering
  • Rapidly gain expertise in external applications and validate integration feasibility with HPE storage products
  • Collaborate with the Customer Engineering and Escalation teams to understand customer issues
  • Perform targeted testing to reproduce problems and work with development to accelerate debugging and resolution
  • Analyze test results, debug failures, and drive issues to resolution
  • Understand, participate, and provide input for functional and design specs and other design documentation
  • Collaborate with other cross-functional teams
  • Influence product quality by identifying test coverage gaps, raising defects, and shifting information left
  • Document test strategies, workflows, and results
  • provide clear recommendations

Requirements:

  • BS/MS degree in Science or Engineering from a recognized and accredited university/college
  • At least 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Deep expertise in storage protocols (FC, iSCSI, NFS, SMB, S3)
  • Hands-on experience with cloud, storage, and networking technologies, including File and Object storage, Kubernetes, and related ecosystems
  • Proficient in virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, KVM) and enterprise backup solutions
  • Exceptional debugging and problem-solving skills for complex, distributed system environments
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting capabilities
  • Strong proficiency in Linux and Windows operating systems
  • Advanced scripting skills (Python, Shell)
  • Passionate about learning emerging technologies
  • Experienced with industry-standard tools, including test management platforms, defect tracking systems (JIRA), and performance benchmarking tools
  • Knowledge of regression, scalability, and performance testing methodologies
  • Strong collaboration skills
  • Self-driven with outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience leveraging AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot, or similar) to enhance productivity
  • Curiosity and adaptability to explore emerging AI technologies
