We are seeking a dedicated System Manuals Supervisor with at least 1 to 3 years of technical writing or related experience and 5 years of supervisory experience. The candidate will coordinate and oversee the daily tasks and functions of the Technical Writing personnel within the facility. The System Manuals Supervisor is responsible for allocating resources and monitoring job progress to meet contractual requirements and budget targets while providing weekly/monthly status reports to management and cultivating a supportive team environment for all subordinates.
Job Responsibility:
Work closely with Group Managers, Supervisors, and Leads in the areas of development, expediting, product distribution, implementation, and submittals while ensuring contractual compliance
General knowledge of contract requirements and logistics specifications for the System Manual Deliverables
Review requests for quotation, government solicitations, contracts, military specifications, and purchase orders supporting the Technical Data and Reliability Manager and Logistics Program Managers
Oversees development of all Technical Writing deliverables
Performs duties to develop and perform quality reviews of each deliverable prior to submitting to customers
Ensure that files are maintained, organized and updated for all contracts and requests, and ensure that deadlines are met for all contracts
Communicates with customers, vendors and management
Trains subordinates on all departmental processes and procedures
Coordinate employee schedules, progress, review time sheets, handle various personnel issues and annual employee evaluations
Researches, develops and improves processes that drive efficiency and add value to the Company
Must follow all Company policies and procedures, including those relative to employee safety, environmental policy, and the principles of our quality system
Other duties assigned or requested by Management
Executes budgets/schedules/metrics pertaining to Technical Writing and Training deliverables
Provide input on annual departmental budget and monthly progress as it relates to the proposed budget
Will be required to travel to attend meetings and discuss current/potential business opportunities with customers
Coordinates personnel and resources to meet budget requirements and meet or exceed customer expectations/ schedule deadlines
Researches, develops and improves processes that drive efficiency and add value to the Company
Responsible for reviewing and monitoring ISO 9001 Quality Procedures for the System Manual Department
Requirements:
Minimum of 1 to 3 years of technical writing or related experience and 5 years of supervisory experience
Bachelor's degree in Business, Technical Writing or Military Leadership experience preferred
Advanced knowledge of Arbor text Editor, Adobe Acrobat, S1000D, and SGML/XML preferred
Knowledge of watercraft vessels and systems/equipment
General understanding of all integrated ILS department processes or product supportability experience
