The System Integration Test Engineer role focuses on testing complex embedded automotive systems, requiring a bachelor's degree and 4-8 years of experience. The candidate will work on test automation, collaborate with development teams, and ensure high-quality delivery. Proficiency in tools like dSPACE and IBM Rhapsody is essential, along with strong communication skills.
Job Responsibility:
Analyze, review, and understand system requirements and architecture models in IBM Rhapsody
Create test specifications based on requirements and design models
Develop automated test cases using dSPACE AutomationDesk and execute them in dSPACE ControlDesk
Execute automated and manual tests, perform exploratory testing, and run basic vehicle checks (e.g., smoke tests)
Analyze test results, document issues, and report defects using ALM tools (e.g., DOORS NextGen, EWM)
Understand system functionality to define test boundaries and ensure proper coverage
Support setup and maintenance of test environments including HW/SW simulations and dSPACE HIL
Connect and configure ECUs, restbus simulations, measurement devices, and test benches
Evaluate and document test results, providing technical evidence (oscillograms, signal traces, logs)
Collaborate within AGILE development teams, contributing during sprint planning and reviews
Provide on-site customer test support when required
Maintain effective communication with external project teams
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
Minimum 4-8 years of experience as a System Integration Test Engineer in automotive embedded systems
Good understanding of electronics and embedded systems
Experience with IBM Rhapsody, HIL testing, system modeling, and architecture interpretation
Hands-on experience with dSPACE AutomationDesk / ControlDesk
Knowledge of lab instrumentation (oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies)
Experience with system testing methodologies and automotive microcontrollers
Programming or scripting skills: C / C++ / Python
Experience with AGILE workflows and ALM tools (e.g., DOORS NextGen, EWM)
Good understanding of automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet, FlexRay)
Excellent command of both spoken and written English
Nice to have:
ISTQB certification is a plus
