Job Description:

At Booz Allen, you can use those skills to improve the software technology supporting flight sciences testing and expand digital twin adoption. On our team, you'll translate your customer’s software needs and future goals into a plan by developing and implementing effective architecture artifacts, software design specifications, API and integration contracts, and secure software lifecycle processes. You’ll use the latest software control systems like Git, CI/CD platforms, and AWS services to design an effective software architecture. Your technical expertise will be vital as you lead the building of integrated capabilities such as technology pipelines, data assimilation services, AI services, and AI test-agent interfaces using Agile development methods, Python or C++, and secure-by-design deployment approaches. In this role, you’ll directly impact advanced technology in defense T&E by architecting software that enables confidence-driven digital twins and AI test agents—physics-informed, uncertainty-aware systems that learn from flight data and support safe, information-maximizing test campaigns. With your advanced technical expertise, mentoring, and opportunities to learn new tools and skills, you’ll guide a team that develops the best solutions for our customers. Work with us as we transform the future of technology in defense T&E for the better.

Job Responsibility:

  • Translate customer’s software needs and future goals into a plan by developing and implementing effective architecture artifacts, software design specifications, API and integration contracts, and secure software lifecycle processes
  • Use the latest software control systems like Git, CI/CD platforms, and AWS services to design an effective software architecture
  • Lead the building of integrated capabilities such as technology pipelines, data assimilation services, AI services, and AI test-agent interfaces using Agile development methods, Python or C++, and secure-by-design deployment approaches
  • Architect software that enables confidence-driven digital twins and AI test agents—physics-informed, uncertainty-aware systems that learn from flight data and support safe, information-maximizing test campaigns
  • Guide a team that develops the best solutions for our customers

Requirements:

  • Experience designing and documenting software architectures for real-time or near real-time systems using data assimilation, advanced science and technology models, or decision-support pipelines in defense, aerospace, or regulated environments
  • Knowledge of distributed systems, API design, secure integration patterns such as zero-trust, CUI handling per DoDI 5200.48 or NIST SP 800-171, and modern DevOps or CI/CD practices
  • Ability to collaborate with multi-partner teams, align architecture to technical metrics and IV&V expectations, and produce clear architecture artifacts such as diagrams, specs, and interface contracts
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Systems Engineering and 5+ years of experience in software architecture, or 9+ years of experience in software architecture in lieu of a degree

Nice to have:

  • Experience with digital twin pipelines, uncertainty quantification (UQ) toolchains, federated learning or secure aggregation, or AI/ML integration in safety-critical or T&E contexts
  • Knowledge of flight sciences test, government-furnished reference models such as high-fidelity models, or DoW delivery and evidence narratives
  • Ability to mentor junior architects and developers
  • Ability to present architecture decisions to technical and research leadership
  • Secret clearance
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect or CISSP Certification
  • Agile or Architecture Certifications
What we offer:
  • Health, life, disability, financial, and retirement benefits
  • Paid leave
  • Professional development
  • Tuition assistance
  • Work-life programs
  • Dependent care
  • Recognition awards program
