Electrical System Engineering position with senior level experience to develop and perform advanced task assignments for facility power distribution systems (up to 13.8 KV) at the Kennedy Space Center.
Job Responsibility:

Oversee Mission Support planning and coordination
Oversee equipment Operations and Maintenance
Oversee electrical project planning
Oversee facility power system design
Oversee mission test procedure development
Be responsible for assigned Low Voltage power distribution systems
Be knowledgeable of Medium Voltage power distribution systems
Coordinate with the Mission Support Office to support all Launch and Mission related activities
Work with technical craft labor to maintain the overall health of assigned systems
Work directly with other senior and entry level Systems and Design Engineers
Perform senior level range of facility electrical distribution system troubleshooting, design, and development of tasks in specific areas with minimal review and oversight
Working with lower-level engineers and shop electricians to promote and abide by engineering processes and industry consensus standards
Adhere to of safety working practices for electrical systems
Be able to interpret and provide guidance for power system single line and schematic electrical drawings
Interpret and provide guidance to Arc Flash analysis documents to determine hazard levels for shop personnel
Revise and add new asset information in Maximo database for assigned equipment per MAR (Maintenance Action Request) process
Develop and maintain job plans and PMs for assigned equipment
Address and justify preventive maintenance deferrals of assigned equipment
Conduct site visits to investigate system problems, propose solutions and provide recommendations to restore systems
Support shop technicians in troubleshooting issues related to assigned equipment as needed
Provide technical expertise for technical anomalies as they arise
Resolve and document failure anomalies regarding assigned equipment
Prepare Technical Anomaly reports and presentations documenting problems, concerns and resolutions for assigned equipment to the Engineering Review Board
Coordinate NASA and customer related mission activities to support the EGS customer launch schedule
Participate in console operation during test and launch operations as needed for assigned systems
Provide input to and actively participate in applicable System Health and Readiness Program (SHARP) teams
Develop and present or represent mission related presentations to the NASA and/or EGS customer
Perform readiness assessments of assigned equipment and systems
Coordinate and work closely with requester, customers, other engineering, logistics, financial, and program management disciplines to define system specifications and requirements
Direct interface and liaison with internal and external customers at all levels from concept to final design and commissioning activities
Support development of technical proposals, statements of work and/or provide comments on the technical content and level of effort of the proposed scope of work
Develop task order requirements to NASA to complete Operations & Maintenance Documentation (OMD) updates
Coordinate and communicate effectively with CAD drafters, Design Engineers, or shop personnel by written or verbal means
Develop, maintain and produce technical documentation and system/subsystem specifications
Verify and comply with engineering documentation standards and test procedures
Conduct site visits, experimental investigations and analyze engineering problems, propose solutions and alternatives, and provide recommendations
Assess assigned systems and equipment for necessary upgrades to meet new code requirements, or enhance operation
Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, or related engineering field
16+ years of job-related experience
Strong communications and analytical skills
Working knowledge of computer systems, integrated software application programs and PLC software control systems
Ability to lead team resolution or design efforts to rapid conclusion
Capable of using spreadsheets, word processing and standard Microsoft Office software to include Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Visio
Knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (examples include software such as CADD, AutoCAD, MicroStation, SKM, ETAP, PLC interface software, etc.)
Working Knowledge of PLC control logic diagrams
Ability to read and interpret multi-discipline Engineering drawings
Working knowledge of industry electrical codes and standards, operation and maintenance of power distribution systems, and interior/exterior lighting
Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain and maintain required clearances/badges as required by program and position
Must have the ability to communicate in English, both verbal and written in an effective manner
